We believe that the Teatro Español of Madrid is honour-bound to salvage the memory of our more senior actors. Several generations of actresses and actors whose talent and efforts have helped make our society more enlightened, more educated, more just and less barbaric. For decades, our actors have thrilled our parents and our grandmothers and indeed all of us, bringing tears to our eyes and making us laugh out loud.
Our thespians have always worked in the theatres of Madrid with passion and all too often under conditions that would now be simply unthinkable. We believe that the cultural heritage embodied in each and every one of them is a capital that the public in Madrid should and must continue to enjoy. The wisdom of all the experience they have gained on the stage is our most precious heritage and, as such, we must nurture and maintain it. We are responsible for exalting the legacy that our senior actors sustain in silence. Old age should not be a time of neglect and abandonment, it should be a time of memory and opportunity.
Workshops, exhibitions, plays and other activities will take place in this cycle that will be held at the Teatro Español and the Naves del Español at Matadero.
