A FESTIVAL OF JAZZ, SOUL, R&B AND BOLEROS
Thanks to the Anïmales Mixtøs series for getting the band back together again. For the past 20 years or more, we’ve played together in all manner of jazz clubs, concerts and jazz festivals whenever I’ve been able to get away from my other job as an actress. During that time, I produced my first album, Colours, which was my way of introducing myself as a singer. That album has brought me so much joy and we’ll be performing some of the songs for you on the night of the concert at Naves del Español at Matadero.
We have an eminently jazzy evening to look forward to, as we’ll be revisiting standards from the great American songbook and interpreting works by such composers as Jerome Kern, Lill Harding, the Gershwin brothers, Peggy Lee, Harold Arlen, Duke Ellington and Jimmy Dorsey.
We’ll also be paying a necessary tribute to the Bolero, with songs by Luis Demetrio and José Antonio Méndez.
And by the time we get to the R&B of Ron Miller and Orlando Murden we’ll have you leaping out of your seats and dancing the night away.
A night of pure swing!
Natalia Dicenta (voz/vocals)
